Southern charm meets a classic beauty! When I first met Dustin and Arin, I could feel the timeless love shared between these two. This sweet couple dreamt of a whimsical, romantic aesthetic with hints of a beautifully southern, rustic grace. The Peanut Warehouse in Conway, South Carolina had all of that and more. From the twinkling, idyllic lights illuminating the all-wood ceiling to the natural lumber making up the entire venue, swoon!

To keep with the simple, yet elevated beauty of this hidden gem, we let the venue shine with soft, pale grey and blue colored linen. To accentuate each table we placed carved log centerpieces, dressed with a blend of burlap and hand-painted wine bottles and single hydrangeas. It was elegance in the simplest form. The altar was adorned with delicate white draping loosely tied on each side with a blend of burlap, white and pale blue ribbon. It sat perfectly under the chandelier lining the aisle center.

ART Catering served a delicious feast buffet style before the guests danced the night away with DJ Ronnie. And how about that sweetly southern cake from Sky Spicer? The florals and burlap were the perfect notes to dress that decadent dessert! When the magical night had to come to an end, the bride and groom retired to one of the charming rooms at Cypress Inn Bed & Breakfast. This wedding was certainly one to be remembered!

SkyWheel Events | Myrtle Beach, SC | EVENTS BY SANTANA

2017 was a year of many wonderful new partnerships! One being the home of the best view in town. The SkyWheel in Myrtle Beach is 200-feet above sea level making it one of the optimal places to observe the Atlantic Ocean and all the fun to be had on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. EVENTS BY SANTANA was brought in to coordinate monthly events for all locals and first-timers alike.

With the help of some awesome creative partners, we have had special appearances from superheroes, fairytale characters, the Easter bunny, Mr. and Mrs. Clause and much more. Many events featured some one-of-a-kind balloon displays from Imagination Creations in addition to face painters, balloon twisters and did I mention the mini horse? Playful, quirky games, such as ring toss, offered a chance to win exclusive prizes while dancing along to the sound of the DJ! SkyWheel’s neighbor, LandShark Bar & Grill, generously provided complementary treats and specialty beverages for guests to enjoy.

We had Spooktacular events, CarnEVIL’s, Who-Bilation's, Season Festivals, an exclusive Eclipse party and many more themed days! Looking forward to another year with the best view in town! Stay updated on 2018 events at http://www.skywheel.com

Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce100 Years | Pawleys Island, SC | EVENTS BY SANTANA

The voice of businesses and the county’s biggest promoter of member success deserves a Gala worthy of 100 years of dedicated service to the Georgetown community. What an honor it was to coordinate both the 100th birthday and the end of year Gala for the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce.

To kick off such a momentous occasion we opted for a birthday celebration that commemorated some of the most iconic items that have also withstood the tests of 100 years time! The Hammock Shops porch was the perfect backdrop accompanied by uplighting provided by GlobalTruth Entertainment that took the party to another level. We showcased an menu offering some Low Country favorites - chicken and waffles, fried green tomatoes with pimento Cheese, shrimp & grits and egg rolls :: Although, it was the CheerWine and MoonPie bar that stole the show!

Also celebrating 100 years is the famous Chuck Taylor shoe which quickly became the theme for our centerpieces & floral arrangements! That’s right, we used the timeless street shoe to decorate each table! It was a great turn out, but how could it not be with The Reggie Sullivan Band playing in the courtyard gazebo. The celebration did not end here!

Sticking closely to the time of 100 years ago, we themed the Chamber’s premier event around the Roaring 20s! All the members were invited to a Roaring Night celebrating and commemorating 100 years of service. A seating lounge fit for the times was brought in by EventWorks while the most charming saxophone soloist entertained the prohibited cocktail hour. We even created a Georgetown Chamber memorabilia room with important keepsakes and tokens from their esteemed past. This end of the year bash and awards ceremony shined with black silk linen and topped with the most beautiful arrangements of white feathers and pearls. After a delicious dinner provided by Pawleys Plantation, they blew out the birthday candles of a custom gold “G” cake donated by Pawleys Island Bakery. The roaring night ended with a toast and vintage coupes full of sparkling champagne!

Happy 100 years Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce! Cheers to 100 more!

Shrimp & Grits Cook Off | Hammock Shops Village, Pawleys Island, SC | EVENTS BY SANTANA

One of my personal favorites, the Hammock Shops Village’s most anticipated event thrived its second year. That’s right! This May of 2017 marked the 2nd Annual Shrimp & Grits Cook-Off  at “the porch” in the Pawleys Island Hammock Shops. The top chefs in the area gathered to battle for the prestigious titles of People’s Choice and Best Shrimp & Grits offering their unique renditions of the crowd favorite comfort food. All proceeds from the delicious event benefitted Miss Ruby’s Kids, a Non-Profit literacy program serving families in Georgetown County.

With the help of EventWorks rentals, the cook-off decor was themed around a vibrant blue and electric orange color scheme with pops of yellow accents. DJ Wally B with Paul Matthews Entertainment kept the energy up while guests indulged in the most savory bites. Kona Ice Truck parked just outside offered a sweet note to the days delectable palette. There was something for everyone when The Character Company came out with activities for the kids and balloon animals for all, but lets not forget the contestants! Up for the title were Bagel Cafe, Bistro 217, Hanser House, Rustic Table, bisQit, Get Carried Away, Quigley’s and Southern Comforts. Talk about a competition!

It was not an easy decision, as each taste was exquisite, but with an esteemed panel of judges and the help of the attendees, two winners were chosen. People’s Choice went to Bistro 217 and the winner of Best Shrimp & Grits went to Southern Comforts.

Looking forward to round 3!

Be Our Guest | McKenzie & Grant | Myrtle Beach, SC | EVENTS BY SANTANA

From the moment I met McKenzie & Grant, I could truly feel the warmth and the love that these two share for each other. She was an artistic bride with a unique, antique vision for their wedding day and he wanted her to have everything she envisioned - Grant was off to a great start for husband of the year!

Their wedding journey began with hand-painted wedding invitations designed by McKenzie herself. With warm tones of maroon, soft blushes of pink and vibrant hues of green, guests got a lovely peek to the color palette that would decorate their big day. That was just the beginning! Surrounding the hand-picked antique centerpieces were pops of maroon colored napkins which provided a gorgeous touch of drama. Authentic wood logs covered in moss, ivory candles, and greenery caught the eye as you entered into the venue. Each piece of decor brought a beautiful woodsy, yet soft whimsical feel to the entire event.

To show each guest a glimpse into the couple’s journey together,  an exquisitely rustic wooden ladder was draped with photos outlining memories from their first date to the day he proposed. Old window panes were used to debut the dinner menu, the bridal party names and our personal favorite, the bride’s hand-painted “Be Our Guest” welcome sign.

And then there is her ring! SWOON! <3

The evening ceremony kicked off outside in the picture-perfect garden of Pine Lakes Country Club. Cocktail hour was held on the club’s porch which offered a variety of selected craft beers close to the groom and a margarita bar for the blushing bride. The party was brought inside for the reception and to announce the newlyweds as Mr. and Mrs. Toth for the first time! After dinner and some dancing, everyone gathered around for the hilarious game of how well McKenzie and Grant really know each other! When the laughing finally came to an end, the show continued with the always fun bouquet and garter toss, but the party never stopped until the time came to send the couple off with the always exciting sparkler exit! As spoken by the theme of their gorgeous cake, “Let the Adventure Begin.”

Hi! I’m Santana and I am beyond excited to announce the 2 year anniversary of Events By Santana;  my business, my passion, my baby!

Events By Santana has coordinated over 50 events, featured in numerous bridal magazines, made TV appearances and competed in the local Dancing with the Stars. I have partnered with companies such as The Hammock Shops and Gay Dolphin to organize events including the renowned Sun Fun Festival and The Shrimp and Grits Cook-Off. Charleston Weddings are always a personal favorite and the Fashion Show in Market Common is a thrilling event I look forward to every year!

This summer, EBS has been accepted into the Leadership Grand Strand program, giving me the perfect opportunity to give back to a community that has given so much to me over these two years.

I have had an outrageous amount of support from my family, friends, and vendors I’ve met over the years. My girl Heather is a smart, driven, beautiful, creative supermodel who will do big things with her future!

Especially thank you to two particular people :: 1. My boyfriend, Bill, for always believing in my success, sticking with me through the ups & downs, and cheering me on every step of the way! 2. Hannah (Hannah Ruth Photography), my awesome, goofy, photographer best friend! You have captured my (our) journey of wackiness and continue to amaze me with your beautiful work!

This company represents diversity, edginess, strength, and independence. I will continue to be take chances and try new things and never forget where I came from.

There’s no telling how far EBS can go!

I met Jenny & Amanda almost 5 years ago through a mutual friend. I could immediately tell they were amazing individuals and we instantly clicked! Our friendship quickly developed and each step of the way, their love for one another never ceased to amaze me! They are both so outgoing and loving with hearts of gold.

We planned their wedding for almost 2 years and even had to move the date from a Saturday in October to a Monday in December due to Jenny’s deployment (United States Coast Guard). The winter wonderland themed wedding was one to remember.

Magnolia Plantation Carriage House in Charleston, SC was the perfect location for the ceremony & reception. It was surrounded by over-grown oak trees, colorful gardens, and sat directly on the Ashley River. Magnolia Plantation and Gardens has been selected as one of “America’s Most Beautiful Gardens” by Travel +  Leisure Magazine

Jenny & Amanda are always the life of the party and what better way to prove that than to have mini fireball shots for guests at the end of your ceremony? It was a fun surprise for everyone, even the officiant pulled one out of his coat!

The cocktail hour continued the excitement with a “shuck-it-yourself” oyster roast! After the guests cleaned up and took their seats in the Carriage House the bridal party stormed in with yellow Steelers “Terrible Towels” (Jenny’s family are HUGE Steelers fans).

After a southern-style dinner by Crazy Dutchman Catering, Jenny & Amanda cut into a rainbow layered cake decorated to look like white birchwood.  Followed by cake, guests enjoyed a bourbon & cigar bar on the back deck as the sun set over the river.

Ryan of Globaltruth Entertainment, didn’t need much to pump up this wild crowd! It was a night full of dancing, drinking and good times!

Hannah & Greg | Pine Lakes Country Club, Myrtle Beach, SC | EVENTS BY SANTANA

Hannah & Greg are one-of-a-kind. Hannah is a photographer packed with spunkiness; She is blonde, full of life, and loves white wine. Greg is a quiet, laid back, firefighter from Detroit who spends his spare time working on cars. They are complete opposites that fit together so perfectly.

Hannah is one of my best friends so when I was asked to not only be her wedding planner but to be her bridesmaid I was completely overwhelmed! Overwhelmed with excitement because she was my best friend and I wanted to be the one to guarantee her day is perfect :: Overwhelmed with stress knowing how much more work I would put into this day as double duty and impressing this professional wedding photographer! Mixed emotions of work, friendship, & love! Although it wasn't going to be easy,  I was ready for the challenge.

She came to me with the idea of a “geo” theme - I loved it! So fun & playful, just like Hannah! Geometric shapes were the up & coming trend for 2017 and no one else in this area had used it for a wedding! Gold geo’s with accents of pale pinks and navy was our focus for their dream day.

As a professional photographer in the Myrtle Beach area, Hannah had worked with some of the best wedding vendors around and wanted all of them for her big day! When looking for a venue, they struggled at first but quickly found her dream location - A graceful country club in the heart of the Grand Strand and one of Myrtle Beach’s oldest landmarks, Pine Lakes Country Club.

The southern architecture full of gold & crystal chandeliers and sky blue walls was home for Hannah and Greg’s wedding. With Kelly from Little Shop of Flowers, we designed the florals around the drama & elegance of the venue. Delicate anemones were flown in from Italy and became the centerfold to the remarkable arrangements & bouquets. I had never seen anything like it, truly stunning!

Buttercream Cakes put together a display of adorable mini cake shots, pink & blue rock candy, and a geometric shaped cake with a marbling fondant and touches of gold foiling. The mini strawberry cheesecakes shots were to die for (I could’ve eaten 40) and the cake was too pretty to cut - I still can’t stop looking at pictures of it!

Magnolia Photography captured every perfect detail of the day including the airbrush artist customizing neon trucker hats! YES, an airbrusher was on site to create personalized hats for each guest!  This wedding had all the bells & whistles, with a fine attention to detail. Laura of Charlotte & Lilly designed gorgeous geo themed invitations suites. She even constructed mini geometric labels to tie on to the moscow mule mugs. Again, EVERY BELL & WHISTLE!

While sipping moscow mules during cocktail hour, Hannah surprised Greg with custom Detroit Lions corn hole boards which everyone enjoyed using that evening. DJ Scott & Co. got the party started and kept it rocking all night!

Hannah & Greg went out with a BANG! They had no idea that Greg’s brother had fireworks planned for their spectacular exit! From start to finish, this wedding was everything one could only dream!

Cheers to MR & MRS BOISVERT on forever! Thanks for letting me be a part of your lives!

Oceanfront Wedding | Myrtle Beach, SC | EVENTS BY SANTANA

These two became so close to my heart way before their wedding day! Before I started my business almost 2 years ago I met them while working as the Event Manager for a group of Oceanfront Resorts. They booked their wedding at The Breakers Resort in sunny Myrtle Beach, SC.  Amanda & Toby traveled from Pennsylvania many times during the planning process, and each time would come to visit me!  We quickly developed a wonderful friendship so when they heard the news that I had left the hotels to start my event planning business they quickly reached out. Amanda & Tony told me the only reason they booked the resort was because of ME!?!! Little ole me!! They then hired me as their Wedding Planner & Coordinator and I couldn’t be more proud to work for such great individuals.

The ceremony took place on the beautiful oceanfront lawn at The Breakers Resort with 100 of their closest friends & family, all who had traveled from PA! It was a perfect day with not a cloud in the sky as Amanda walked down the aisle. Guests shed tears into colorful vintage handkerchiefs while Amanda & Toby were wed by her very own cousin, so emotional!

Once vowels were exchanged cocktail hour took place on the lawn just next to the ceremony site where everyone rocked personalized sunglasses and sipped margaritas!

The Breakers Resort is home of Myrtle Beach’s only 15th floor oceanfront ballroom – If you could see this view in person, BREATHTAKING! Toby & Amanda started their night by dancing on the clouds to Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud".

The Bride & Groom are such fun people and are always up for having a good time that a party is all they wanted most for their reception. Ryan Robinson of Globaltruth Entertainment was sure to make that happen and kept the party going all night!

One Life Photography provided an awesome photobooth in which guests could not stay away from! One of my favorite pictures from 2016 was one from this very photobooth (you’ll see below).

The Foster’s kicked off their marriage with a sparkler getaway and toes in the sand.

Toby & Amanda, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for having me as your wedding planner, wedding coordinator and now as great friends! I look forward to you all moving to Myrtle Beach in a couple years and sharing many memories in the future! CHEERS TO FOREVER

FYI- I almost cried while writing this <3

Super Bowl Party Hosting | EVENTS BY SANTANA

SUPER BOWL 51 is only a few days away, Atlanta Falcons vs. New England Patriots.

Black & Red vs. Blue & Red.

South vs. North

Who will it be?..

My vote:: LADY GAGA!!! Are you as excited about her halftime performance as I am? She is going to ROCK that stage. Halftime is always my favorite part of the Super Bowl. This year's game takes place in Houston, TX - Home of the Texans.

Will you be hosting a party this year? I thought I was getting this year off from hosting but turns out I got nominated to host again, 6th year in a row! Yesterday, I was invited back to Fox WBTW's Carolina AM with Greg Rowles & Abbi Neal. This was my 3rd time appearing on the show and always a blast. Behind the screen they are so sweet and welcoming.

Here are some of the topics discussed on the show:

- If your team is in the Super Bowl feel free to go all out! Decorate everything in your team colors and mascot! If your team is not, support the two playing teams by decorating in their colors.

- The team balloons are always a favorite of mine! Most of your local party stores and grocery stores will have the playing teams logos on football shaped balloons, so cute! Spice it up by adding a couple latex balloons of the team colors. EX:: Falcons balloon, red latex, black latex.

- When it comes to setting up be sure to have items in the team color. I like to represent both teams on my food tables by having one set of colors one one side, and the opposing team on the other. Plates, napkins, cups and silver can be purchased in any color at your local dollar store with some stores even carrying the official team plates, cups, etc. RULE OF THUMB: 2 plates, 2 forks, 2 napkins & 1 cup per person. Most guests will go back to the food stations for seconds.

- Keep it classic! Super Bowl Sunday is the most "wing-eating" day of the year. Americans eat approximately 1.3 BILLION wings on Superbowl Sunday. Make it interactive by having a wing bar with a variety of flavors and sauces for your guests to try out.

Wings :: Pizza :: Popcorn :: Peanuts

- Beverages :: I don't know about you but I'm a beer lover! Watching football is just another excuse for me to have a few good IPA's on my couch and not feel bad about it! Provide some of your favorite beers for your guests to try out. Don't forget about the Bud Light & Miller Lite, those are always favorites. The more beer you have, the better your chances are of having leftovers :)

-Bring additional chairs from your dining room, bean bags, anything to provide extra seating for your guests. Super Bowl is a day for sitting, relaxing and being with your friends. Most guests don't mind sitting close to one another, as look as they get to have a good time and watch the game! Pull extra tv's out of the bedroom and into the living room to add even more for your guests to look at.

-Be attentive. Don't forget to spend time with your guests. Greet them as they come in then later be sure to spark up a conversation. Make them feel welcomed in your home. If they are new to your crowd, introduce them to some of your friends and bring up things they may have in common.

- This is one of my favorite tricks when hosting a party! Take a roll of brown craft paper, use a sharpie to decorate it, write your menu directly on it, draw 10 yard lines and you have a cool new table cloth. Even COOLER - Once the party is over you pick up the entire paper with the trash and left overs on it and just toss. So simple! Makes cleanup actually fun!

Thanks FOX WFXB & Carolina AM for having me!
